9 Signs That You Might Be An Introvert

I am an introvert. There is a difference between shyness and introversion as shyness is a behaviour while introversion is motivation. Being an introvert makes you a person who has low drive in participating in social situations. You have the skill but it is up to you to take or leave socializing. You can overcome shyness if you have the will but introversion seems to be hard-wired, and it doesn't need to be overcome. 

 Signs that you might be an introvert are;

1. You rarely think 'the more the merrier' 

     Introverts are more comfortable being in a one-on-one conversation or in a small group.

2. You consider doing nothing is something.

     Introverts are perfectly happy even when they're home alone.

3. Sometimes you feel like your head is going to go "BOOM!"

    Recent research suggests that an introvert's brain is very busy, which leads to the feeling of doing nothing
    is something.


4. You sometimes hide in the bathroom.

     When you're at a party or some sort of event with a lot of people, you tend to go to the bathroom very
     often as an escape from the crowd and let your brain settle down.

5. You are ready to leave a party shortly after arriving.

6. You rarely answer your phone.

    The telephone is intrusive, especially for introverts, whose brains don’t switch gears all that quickly. When 
    we’re deep in thought, a ringing telephone is like a shrieking alarm clock in the morning.

7. You prefer 1 close friend to 100 lovely acquaintances.

    We prefer a few intimate friendships to a bunch of fun but superficial ones.
    This is not because we don’t like people, but because we do—so much so that we want to really know
    those people we care about. We would rather know one person intimately than a dozen only slightly 

8. You can't figure out or imagine what others are constantly talking about.

9. You avoid anything that might devolve into audience participation.

    Little inspires terror in the heart of an introvert like seeing a performer scanning the audience for a 
    volunteer. Or a show that ends with a cast-audience dance party. Or a singer who strolls out into the 
    audience with the microphone, emoting at people.
